Job Summary
Part-Time Driver (Food Services Support – Burnaby Schools)
Location: Burnaby, BC
Schedule: 2 days per week (approximately 10–12 hours/week)
Days: Typically Tuesdays and Thursdays (may vary as needed)
Hours: Flexible day shifts
Reports to: Chef Manager / Site Supervisor
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Driver to support our food service operations across multiple Burnaby secondary school locations. This part-time position involves transporting food deliveries, assisting with inter-site logistics, and performing occasional banking errands. The role requires someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely drive a small company van between seven Burnaby secondary school sites.
- Pick up and deliver food products, supplies, and other materials between units.
- Handle banking-related tasks such as dropping off cash deposits and exchanging coins.
- Assist sites with transferring deliveries, equipment, and inventory as needed.
- Ensure all items are transported securely and handled according to food safety and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with site manager and staff regarding deliveries and schedules.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (clean driving record required).
- Previous driving experience is an asset
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with Burnaby area roads is an asset.
Additional Details:
- Approx. 12 hours per week, with potential for additional hours based on business needs.
- Company vehicle provided for work-related driving.
- Training and route orientation will be provided.
