Job Summary

The Director of Purchasing and Logistics is responsible for maintaining strong partnerships with all vendors, meet operations product needs on a timely basis and evaluate and recommend new products to enhance standards and increase profitability.  

Now, if you were to come on board as our Director of Purchasing and Logistics, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Maintains “show quality” of all areas at all times
  • Understands all menus, product offerings, packaging, and pricing
  • Establishes rapport with associates, management, and partners
  • Employs safety, security and sanitation guidelines and practices
  • Completes scheduling of team members for all events
  • Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
  • Achieves daily sales, assigned cost goals and budget goals
  • Oversees execution of required daily reporting and completion of required department reports and compiles information at month end closing
  • Reviews forecasts and schedules to meet operational needs and desired targets
  • Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable Compass systems (Purchasing Systems, Point-of-sale, Timekeeping systems, etc.)
  • Oversees inventory procedures for accountability and ensures inventory best practices are in place
  • Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance to team and to ensure lines of communication are open between management and associates
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and develops associates according to Compass guidelines
  • Can Do attitude

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing and Logistics, with 3 years at a management level (preferably in foodservice) 
  • Able to communicate effectively with management team, associates and guests.
  • Highly organized and ability to process large volumes of information.
  • The ability to multi-task and work under pressure within time constraints.
  • Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products
  • May be required to perform diverse physical tasks
