Job Summary

Our Lodge Manager is responsible for the efficient operations and compliance with contracts, corporate policies and procedures, plus governmental rules and regulations. This role is also the client, partner, and government liaison at the camp level. 

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Lodge Managers, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the lodge.
  • Manage subordinates who supervise employees in the kitchen, housekeeping, and janitorial, departments.
  • Ensure project and employee compliance with all safety, company and operating policies and procedures; continuous review services for ways to reduce cost and increasing profitability without compromising standards.
  • Continually inspect premises, and food service areas, for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Confirm contract compliance, and ensure employees awareness of ESS’s contractual obligations for the project.
  • Collaborate with Department Heads on service standards, cost, QA, and all other aspect of the operations;
  • Oversee accommodations, food services and record inventories at the end of every week and period.
  • Monitor governmental permits, and ensure company compliance with all permitting requirements and government regulations.
  • Implement and maintain sales and marketing programs.
  • Confirm weekly paperwork packets prepared accurately and timely in accordance with operations manual, client, and corporate requests.
  • Coordinate employees, scheduling, and crew change; record and/or monitor employee hours of work on a daily basis to ensure compliance with budgets, and provide to payroll weekly
  • Manage union associates within the collective agreement guideline that include employee performance evaluation
  • Ensure all health and safety and food safety issues are addressed and resolved promptly.
  • Initiate safety inspection, training, and any necessary reports; Conduct accident investigations and complete necessary documentation
  • Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints. Initiates corrective action.
  • Ensure good order and maintenance of all equipment by immediately reporting any deficiencies to maintenance; perform all duties in the safest possible manner and report all health and safety incidents.
  • Maintain good client communications; monitor the performance of the unit through verification and analysis of customer satisfaction systems and financial reports; initiates corrective actions.

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) with five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced Food Safety/HACCP Training.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Proven experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Able to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Capacity to work long periods away from home, and adjust personal schedule on short notice due to business needs.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift 50 – 75 pounds.
