Job Summary
We are looking to add a Data Platform Engineer to one of our core data science products teams.
Some of our core flagship offerings are built on the vast amount of data we collect from top CPG firms. And while some of our products have demonstrated a defensible product-market fit, other products are only beginning to show signs of future potential.
We’re looking to find the right candidate to perform in a unique role that blends pushing the boundaries of technical implementation by authoring sound code and establishing and maintaining cross-departmental relationships.
In the near term, this role would involve revamping and improving the existing platform. In the longer term, it has the potential of giving rise to fresh initiatives and new frontiers.
Now, if you were to come on board as our Data Platform Engineer, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Ship robust ETL solutions
- Offer visibility to non-technical audiences
- Scope out features and ship them in a timely manner
- Translate business logic into technical specifications
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and provide constructive feedback
- Sketch user stories and plan out epics
Think you have what it takes to be our Data Platform Engineer? We’re committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here’s how we’ll know you’ll be successful in the role:
- Typically, we would expect someone to have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science, but it’s not required
- Over 3 years of professional experience in software engineering or platform engineering
- Very strong experience with Snowflake and SQL databases in general
- Strong command of Python
- Strong command of front-end (bonus points for React)
- In-depth understanding of cloud deployments
- Knowledge of source control solutions
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills—you’re comfortable authoring technical documentation, distilling information to executives, and can speak with candour
