Job Summary

 

The Housekeeping Manager will oversee the housekeeping operations of five high-profile lounges at Toronto Pearson Airport, catering to high-end clientele. This multi-unit role requires a strong leader with experience in managing a unionized workforce, implementing and enforcing SOPs, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent training skills to continuously develop staff and maintain a detail-oriented approach to all aspects of the operation.

 

Now, if you were to come on board as a Housekeeping Manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

 

  • Take full responsibility for managing housekeeping staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and, when necessary, terminating employees in line with Compass Standards, Client Contracts, and applicable Union Collective Agreements. Collaborate with Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety departments to support personnel management functions.
  • Maintain accountability for the financial performance of the housekeeping department, ensuring that costs and expenses stay within the approved budget for all lounge locations.
  • Implement and enforce SOPs to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and service, in line with client expectations and the needs of high-end clientele.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to housekeeping staff to enhance skills, improve service delivery, and ensure adherence to SOPs. 
  • Conduct regular inventories of housekeeping supplies and ensure that orders are placed in a timely and cost-effective manner, keeping expenses aligned with the approved budget.
  • Provide detailed written and verbal reports on housekeeping activities, statistics, and performance metrics to the Regional Director on a weekly to monthly basis.

 

Think you have what it takes to be our Housekeeping Manager? Here’s how we’ll know you are the best fit:

 

  • At least five (5) years of management experience in a multi-unit, high-profile setting such as hospitality environment. Experience managing a unionized workforce is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of housekeeping procedures, including the implementation and enforcement of SOPs. Understanding of infection control practices Strong financial management skills with experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • Exceptional people management skills with the ability to lead, train, and motivate a team. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and reports.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in computer use, with experience in relevant software and tools.
