Job Summary

In accordance with provincial legislation and our commitment to transparent hiring practices, the compensation range for this position is provided. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Canadian work experience is not required. Pay range is $76,400 to $101,900 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Interior Designer to work with our Food Service Design Division. As the Interior Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of various Design projects.  The Interior Design role supports senior resources in information gathering, space planning, and design development activities for complex projects. Your responsibilities will include keeping up with the latest interior/food service design trends, coordinating projects, ensuring building code compliance, providing technical advice related to Interior Design and food service equipment technology, and maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.
 

If you were to come on board as our Intermediate Interior Designer, what you bring to the table:
 

  • Ability to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in an architectural or interior design firm, preferably commercial, retail and/or food services design.
  • Graduate of an Architectural or Interior Design program at a recognized post-secondary school
  • Knowledge of the Ontario / National Building Code
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp Pro, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and with accuracy as part of both a collaborative team and individually
  • Take on multiple projects at the same time, and be able to meet deadlines effectively
  • Meet with clients to understand their project goals, requirements, and budgets.
  • Conducting site visits when required to assess the existing conditions and potential challenges.
  • Develop conceptual designs and sketches that reflect our client’s vision and comply with the relevant building codes and health & safety standards.
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project’s feasibility, quality, and timely completion.
  • Staying current with today's Interior Design and Food Service Design trends while cascading them to the Design team. 
  • Provide Interior Design recommendations to ensure proper investments.

  • An undergraduate degree in architecture, interior design, or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Interior Design and/or Food Service Design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, KCL Catalogue, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office (required)
  • Exceptional Computer skills (Smartsheet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
