Job Summary

The Project Manager reports into ESFM. The position offers an outstanding opportunity to gain exposure leading impactful enterprise-wide business initiatives in a Fortune 500 company. Capital projects include facility related upgrades (e.g., HVAC system, boiler, etc.), construction and production equipment upgrades. A successful candidate will be responsible for the complete life cycle of key projects and drive crucial change throughout.

Now, if you were to come on board as a Project Manager, Capital Projects, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Develops, oversees and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Plans and prepares project schedules and milestones and monitors progress against established schedules
  • Participates in the preparation of scopes of work in conjunction with value engineering
  • Prepares progress reports and issues progress schedules to clients
  • Ensures execution of projects in construction phase, according to the approved business plan
  • Participates in stakeholder engagement and negotiations
  • Manages design, review drawings and specifications and provides feedback concerning costs and practicality
  • Coordinate with contractors, municipality officials, the client and their representatives including plant staff on scheduling, coordination, and other critical items to ensure project(s) are completed on time and on budget.
  • Issues regular status reports and ensure resolution of material issues that affect project delivery
  • Reviews the requirements for change notices, authorizes change notices and change orders
  • Manages project dependencies and develops contingency plans as appropriate
  • Manages architects and consultants to ensure completeness of design documents and that construction schedules and plans are met
  • Participates in annual Capital Project planning and funding requests

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, architecture or project management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • 1 to 4 years of experience delivering any aspect of engineering and construction projects
  • PMP and/or Lean Sigma certifications preferred
  • P.Eng status preferred
  • Demonstrated ability leading large, complex capital projects.
  • Confirmed ability to define and implement change strategies
  • Solid ability to influence and handle external resources in a highly matrix’ d environment
  • Solid track record address contending priorities within a single project with a positive, can-do demeanor
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office, Project, Smartsheet and Visio programs
  • Willingness to travel, on occasion to the project site (25%)
