Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage plays a critical support role to the General Manager, helping coordinate and supervise day-to-day food service operations. This position ensures operational efficiency, maintains exceptional service standards, and acts as a key liaison between clients, staff, and management. The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented leader capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

 

Now, if you were to come on board as our Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Assist the General Manager in supervising food service operations across multiple service areas including cafes, buffets, and markets.
  • Schedule staff and manage coverage to ensure seamless operations and uninterrupted service.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team, ensuring high service standards and performance consistency.
  • Oversee and monitor staff break and meal schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
  • Help coordinate and complete inventory, reporting, and various operational projects.
  • Perform administrative duties including processing invoices, maintaining records, and managing time-off and shift schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on service quality, cost control, and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (e.g., Compass QA Program, WHMIS, OHSA).
  • Address and resolve customer and staff concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate catering needs and collaborate with external vendors to support meetings and events.
  • Partner with facilities teams, site managers, and stakeholders to ensure a flawless guest experience.
  • Promote a culture of positive communication, teamwork, and accountability.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations including WHMIS.

  • Familiarity with inventory processes and invoice reconciliation is an asset.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to service excellence.
