Job Summary

The salary range for this position is $77,900 to $100,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Step into a leadership role at the historic Lord Elgin Hotel, where culinary excellence meets impeccable hospitality. We are seeking a seasoned Food and Beverage Director to oversee our in-room dining, Forty-One Restaurant, and banquets & catering operations.

This unionized role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Operations and offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team of hospitality professionals, drive guest satisfaction, and shape memorable dining experiences in the heart of downtown Ottawa.

 

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Food and Beverage Directors, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Lead and mentor a talented team across all F&B outlets, ensuring operational excellence and service consistency.

  • Oversee menu development, food quality, and financial performance.

  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Operations to implement strategic initiatives.

  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in a unionized setting.

  • Build lasting relationships with guests, clients, and team members.

  • Proven leadership in high-volume, multi-concept food and beverage operations.

  • Experience managing unionized staff is strongly preferred.

  • Strong financial acumen, including labor and cost control.

  • Advanced Food Service Training (AFST) and Health & Safety certifications (or willingness to complete).

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills.
