Job Summary
Now, if you were to come on board as our Director of Catering & Retail, we'd ask you to do the following for us:
- Develop and manage Food and Beverage operations for the Catering & Retail at the REAL District.
- Hold team accountable to steps of service to deliver great guest service
- Ensure team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobs
- Ensure show quality standards are always maintained
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and guests, regularly obtaining feedback to improve operations
- Support and communicate company initiatives
- Ensure the execution of all menus, promotions and programs as outlined by the Director of Operations in accordance with Compass standards
- Ensure that all security, safety, and sanitation standards are achieved
- Achieve daily sales and assigned cost and budget goals
- Provide operational planning to ensure adequate products and equipment are ordered for anticipated business levels
- Practice proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
- Follow and enforce responsible alcohol service policies
- Forecast and adequately schedule team members to meet operational needs and desired targets
- Interview, hire, train and develop team members according to Compass guidelines

- At least five or more years of related hospitality catering management experience in a multi-unit food service environment.
- Strong management skills, capable of motivating, leading and developing associates
- Excellent client relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to control food and labour costs
- Detail-oriented and a strong team player
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with utilizing multiple supporting programs
- Must have ability to support managing larger groups in the main Retail Food operation
- AFST (Advanced Food Safety Training)
