Job Summary

The Events Coordinator will report directly to the Manager, Events and Catering, and will play an essential role in the execution of smaller functions and events, inclusive of events hosted by the Executive team, as well as supporting in the overall event operations. This role is responsible for managing events in meeting rooms and sections of the multipurpose and reception spaces, while having a direct focus on events hosted by the executive leadership team. The Events Coordinator will also be a main support for event operations and event inquiry operations. Any challenges or questions will be escalated to the Manager, Events and Catering. This role may also include other duties as assigned by their direct manager.

 

Now, if you were to come on board as our Events Coordinator, we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • Event Coordination:
    • Coordinate the planning and execution of smaller events, including meetings and functions in designated rooms and multipurpose spaces.
    • Act as the direct contact for a portion of the Executive hosted portfolio, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
    • Manage event logistics, including room setup, audiovisual requirements, and catering services.
    • Assist in tracking budgets and conducting post-event financial reconciliation.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with internal teams (Catering, AV, Facilities, Operations) and external vendors to ensure the successful execution of events.
    • Maintain timely and clear communication with stakeholders to facilitate smooth event operations.
    • Acts as an integral part of the centralized support for the Executive Leadership Team
    • Collaborates with both Compass and client employees as part of the working Group ELT portfolio
  • Event Operations
    • Assist event operations with specialty orders and dietary requests & procedures
    • Assist with workplace and executive catering orders
    • Facilitate short-term deliverables between the client, culinary and operations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of event experience  
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, well development interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Well developed organization skills, ability to adapt to changing circumstances with ease 
  • Proficiency in event Management Software, EMS is a bonus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
