Job Summary

This position is responsible for the supervision of all hourly food & beverage front of house associates, including porters, servers, and bartenders    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The F&B Supervisor, reporting into the Food & Beverage Manager, is responsible for supervising the conference center amenity and catering floors, including but not limited to: room sets, food delivery, beverage service and food service for plated and banquet-style events.

• The F&B supervisor assists the Food & Beverage manager in assigned aspects of the operations. Tasks may include associate coaching, associate onboarding, conflict resolution, problem solving, counting inventory, checking room sets and assisting on the floor as required.

• Ensures the consistent delivery of consistently high-quality food and beverage service to all members and guests.

• The F&B Floor Supervisor must demonstrate the ability to apply common sense and understanding to a variety of situations. Must demonstrate a willingness and capacity to follow safe and healthy work practices. Observes safety and security procedures; reports all potentially unsafe conditions.

Please follow all of the 7 Essentials of Customer Service Excellence as directed by CGC and your Management team in addition to bringing the required skills of the position

Acts as the primary point of contact on the Food & Beverage floor during service. Organizes all floor related activities and assigns tasks to front of house staff; assigns side duties, maintains contact with the client during events and addresses concerns immediately.

• Engages with clients, both internal and external, to ensure successful event completion, and communicates all daily upcoming events to the service teams

• Assigns duties to all banquet staff and catering front of house staff, and verifies completion of tasks at set intervals as required by each position

• Monitors service levels and table maintenance, and makes changes as needed to ensure smooth, consistent service

• Assists on the floor where needed based on required service levels, including but not limited to: assisting with service, delivery of food, assisting with room sets.

• Follows the 6 hour rule for guest or client concerns and responds in a timely manner to all other communications.

• Escalates communication and concerns to the F&B Manager or General Manager as required.

• Maintains and records incidents, including disciplinary action and associate coaching, within the required coaching logs.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of strong operation food industry management experience.
  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification. HACCP, WHMIS,SmartServe Certification, Criminal Record Check 
  • Comprehensive health and safety knowledge and training.
  • Knowledge of food service catering.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the capability to motivate and lead staff.
  • Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Secondary School Diploma and minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant environment.
