Important Information: Prior Experience working in a kitchen as dishwasher or other culinary entry role considered an asset.
Reporting to the Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Partie, the Gather Cook is responsible for working the whole line of the kitchen including the preparation and presentation of both hot and cold menu items set out by the Chef ensuring safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all aspects of your work. The Second Cook will prepare ingredients, cook and assemble dishes, manage workstations, and ensure Gather food is served in a timely manner. Experienced Cooks will help train and mentor entry level cooks while ensuring food is served in a timely manner and to the highest standard.

Job Summary
Park Hospitality is seeking Cooks to work in our restaurant, Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar located withing the spectacular landmark The Leaf at Assiniboine Park.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients, cook and assemble dishes, manage workstations, and ensure food is served in a timely manner.
- Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production.
- Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
- Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:

- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
- Food Safety Certification required.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
