Job Summary

Compass is looking for a leader that is interested in re-imagining the hospitality dining experience by harnessing the power of modern technologies and can perform the following:
•    Help refine and execute a multi-year roadmap that delivers new and optimized dining and retail point of sale capabilities.
•    Work closely with business partners, strategic vendors, and other technology teams to deliver the platform solution. 
•    Be results-driven and highly focused on the customer experience 
•    Oversee refining and maintaining a reliable, resilient, and cost-effective hospitality environment. 
•    Have an excellent engineering foundation and be well-rounded in architecting, building, and maintaining world-class hospitality solutions, with an emphasis on usability, extensibility, and stability. 
•    Possess the technical acumen and managerial experience to lead a high-potential technical team. 
•    Use a strategic leadership approach, exceptional management skills, and strong cross-team and cross-functional collaboration skills. 
•    Show exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with senior leadership, technology peers, key business partners, technical staff, and external partners. 
•    Possess strong interpersonal skills, work with tight schedules, have the capability to solve complex problems, and thrive in our high-energy, fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for the planning and execution of strategic Hospitality Technology initiatives
•    Own the technology roadmap for the retail point of sale systems and be responsible for delivering successful projects to optimize these systems.
•    Work with other technical teams to ensure that technical strategies, architecture guidelines, and standards are realized.
•    Ensure compliance relative to daily operational requirements for accurate reporting of financial data and key business metrics.
•    Define and own project planning, resource planning, and risk assessment.
•    Strengthen relationships with key POS and related technology vendors to help enable ongoing optimization of the POS platform.
•    Accountable for the successful delivery (on-time, on-budget, w/ highest quality) of the Retail POS Technology and Engineering projects
•    Responsible for managing hardware support, including lifecycle replacement of devices.
•    Ensure alignment with the company's standards and procedures for project management, architecture direction, development standards, security requirements, and supportability.
•    Provide team members with an environment of coaching, mentoring, feedback, and staff development.
•    Work across the IT organization to build strong relationships that foster a team spirit.

Qualifications

•    10+ years of experience in IT, engineering management, and delivering large-scale enterprise services.
•    5+ years of experience leading & managing technology teams.
•    Proven ability to deliver results against project schedules while ensuring timelines and high-quality work.
•    Prior experience delivering engineering solutions for retail point of sale systems is strongly preferred.
•    Experience developing technology roadmaps and investment plans that align to the business priorities.
•    Understanding of digital technology including mobile, Azure, IoT solutions, infrastructure and data security best practices.
•    Deep experience developing and managing small to large engineering teams. 
•    Strong communication and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and influence technology professionals across the enterprise.
•    Comfortable with ambiguity, operating with a high degree of initiative and possessing a strong sense of urgency.
•    Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to interact with senior management, technical subject matter experts, and business customers are all essential in this role.
•    Well-organized, detail-oriented, and someone that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
•    Experience working with non-technical users while maintaining a strong customer focus.
•    Possess a hardworking, can-do attitude.
•    Experience working independently within a team environment.
•    Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
•    Experience in the Hospitality Industry a plus.
