Job Summary

The Vice President is an experienced strategic leader with proven management experience. The Vice President is a proven operations and client services leader who owns large client relationships and several smaller engagements alike. They will play the lead role as the senior business leader establishing and strategically driving critical relationships across a variety of stakeholders and clients. The Vice President is responsible for maintaining and developing ongoing business relationships with new and current stakeholders/clients. This includes overall stakeholder/client success, quality of service, and on-time, on-budget completion of Compass Group services. The Vice President is also responsible for providing effective and efficient management and support to their team. The Vice President will direct a team and provide overall planning, direction, evaluation, and control to assigned operation to achieve business and financial goals. This position will report to the Executive Vice President of National Accounts, assigned explicitly to the Microsoft contract, and own all Puget Sound results for Dining. 

Essential Functions and Key Tasks

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, leader, alternately driving strategic and tactical thinking for technical, business, and operational initiatives across the Puget Sound Dining Operations 
  • Drive innovation and thought leadership by presenting examples of programs and trends that inspire the internal team and stakeholders/clients. 
  • Ensure stakeholders/client’s satisfaction and Compass Group profitability 
  • Develop and lead a truly integrated, cross-functional team through performance management and regular, consistent feedback 
  • Provides ongoing clear feedback to the team and is a strong communicator 
  • Manage and balance both stakeholder/client and Compass Group, representing the broad scope of interests 
  • Investigate and mitigate stakeholder/client concerns and work to resolve them with the appropriate cross-functional leads 
  • Involve the internal departments to understand the work Compass Group is scoped to develop and to determine its potential for external and internal use, including case study worthiness 
  • Manage the development of stakeholder/client presentations for new/on-going initiatives with cross-functional experts and present in conjunction with Compass Group senior leaders and other team leads 
  • Foster a collaborative working environment where ideas and constructive opinions thrive 
  • Reduce risk due to the consistent delivery of standards across all units. 
  • Improved coordination and communication by leveraging Center of Excellence knowledge. 
  • Providing transparency on financial & non-financial performance and KPI’s through enhanced global management information and benchmarking. 
  • Cost optimization and delivering cutting edge programming across Puget Sound. 
  • Influence key stakeholders to implement sustainability, accessibility, diversity and inclusion commitments for the purposes of effective change and evangelizing critical causes. 
  • Improve the global relationship landscape to promote organic growth and improve client retention. 
  • Develop systems that improve the transparency of overall performance, leveraging key Microsoft tools and solutions. 
  • Create a framework for clear lines of communication to promote early issue identification and resolution. 
  • Interface with direct report managers to attain buy-in and fast-track best practices. 
  • Establishment of long-term partnerships with key Microsoft Global Workplace executives. 
  • Develop a strategic framework and vision to increase the effectiveness of global workplace initiatives. 
  • Support an infrastructure based on data-driven metrics geared toward continuous process improvement. 
  • Evaluate Puget Sound performance and partner with direct report managers to optimize performance. 
  • Utilize technological platforms to deliver business insights to promote agility and change management. 
  • Promote a systematic process for improved Interface & Contract Governance. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned 


  • MBA Degree is required
  • 4 years bachelor's degree is required
  • 15+ years of professional and relevant experience – can include food service, contract management, consulting and client services 
  • 5+ years' experience in a Fortune 500 company environment  
  • 5+ years' experience managing Senior Level client relationships  
  • Proven Industry connections in relevant business verticals 
  • Proven experience in team management and team development 
  • Stakeholder/client-centric, winning attitude internally within Compass Group and externally 
  • Able to work with a broad spectrum of people - senior to junior level, multiple mindsets 
  • Experience in crisis management across multiple stakeholder/client levels 
  • Skilled at presenting in hybrid, virtual or in-person environments and having command with senior-level clients and large rooms of people  
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively multitask, delegate and accurately evaluate others work 
  • Requirement for development of case studies, white papers, root cause analysis, feasibility studies, etc to use both internally with stakeholders/clients and externally in industry  
  • Must be exceptionally proficient/advanced level at Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and other Microsoft suite of products as needed 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; with strong interest and proficiency in business writing. 
  • Exceptionally proficient in Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM) methodologies (Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, etc.) experience preferred. 
  • Ability to inspire great work 
  • Ability to sell a point of view or ideas through storytelling 
  • Ability to manage multiple client levels and navigate different client agendas 
  • Ability to multi-task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptions 
  • Proven ability to enhance profitability, sustainability and creativity across all channels in alignment with business strategy
