Job Summary

The MPS Program Manager will be a key driver in developing and executing the plan for the acquisition and implementation of new MPS across Compass USA. The role will report to the Senior Manager, Vendor Management.  This role implement a company-wide Managed Print Services program designed to maximize security, reliability and value, leverage greater capabilities, and minimize the cost of our print investment while delivering measurable improvements to our impact on the environment of non-production print solutions.

The successful candidate must be able to lead and interact with a matrixed and dispersed team, working across organizational boundaries to deliver MPS. The environment is currently a mix of sectors, each with differing tools, technology, processes and skills. Success requires effectively communicating with both IT and business leaders, tracking progress to plan, and an ability to adjust to variation from standards to deliver on-time, on-budget and on-scope, while not negatively impacting the user experience. Requires a substantial amount of interaction with vendor and service suppliers. Program management, project management and vendor relationship management are all a critical roles within this position.  The role is based in Charlotte.

 

Position Responsibilities and Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Help define, deliver, and manage the vision, strategy, planning, direction, priorities, performance objectives, and measures of success for the project.
  • Provide project management to gather requirements and develop an implementation plan for MPS from approved vendor.
  • Serving as internal project manager, work closely with Project Manager from the selected vendor to coordinate plans and deliverables.
  • Facilitating meetings, notes, project plans, and deliverables, for the internal portion of the project.
  • Device Fleet Management- Optimization, Administration, IMAC activity, ad hoc reporting reviews
  • Vendor Management of incumbent and new managed print provider

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • Minimum of 7 years of Project Management leadership experience in a complex environment.
  • Broad knowledge of basic IT terms and services in End User Computing, Networking, and print solutions a plus.
  • Escalation and Issues Management
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills; with the ability to effectively relate and communicate at all levels, including explaining technical matters in business terms.
  • PMI, Six Sigma or Lean Certification a plus

 

Leadership Skills:

  • Extensive project or program management experience
  • Experienced in vendor and/or category management
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently drive project plans to achieve both short-term results and long-term objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and achieve results in a complex, multi-location, sector organization.
  • Ability to escalate issues effectively to maintain project schedules.
  • Willingness to take ownership of issues and ability to create and sustain a sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Good day-to-day operating skills.
  • Proven record of success initiating and executing major business technology programs across a large and diverse customer base.
