The Sourcing Manager position will engage with Foodbuy Members and Compass sectors to execute Sourcing solutions that reflect the diversity of our broad client base. You will be responsible for the sourcing, negotiation and selection of the supply base. The goal of the job is to uncover financial opportunities through extensive data analysis to deliver financial results across a broad range of channels and clients.  Exceptional customer service and client relationship management will be paramount to liaise with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver a customized sourcing solution that is unparalleled in the industry.


Annual threshold will be up to approximately $250m with individual contract negotiation responsibility of $5-$50m. 


The dynamic team you will be joining is responsible for sourcing and negotiating best in class solutions for Non Food Supplies including Disposables, Equipment (including IT equipment and Technology solutios) and multiple types of Services that would be required by our wide customer base.


This position will be based in our Charlotte, NC office reporting to the Director Sourcing for Supplies Equipment & Services .

Job Summary

What you will do:

  • Utilize a sourcing approach which challenges status quo yet works in tandem with our existing framework at an accelerated pace
  • Extract new value from suppliers through specialized contracts and supplier relationship management
  • Use market insights and data to ensure competitive market pricing within the sourcing function
  • Lead price benchmarking and analytical activities across customers and routes to market
  • Draw conclusions and insights from big and small data sets, quickly and accurately.
  • Develop & refine the procurement processes to minimize efforts and maximize benefits through compliance & specification controls
  • RFX development and management
  • Work collaboratively towards achieving joint company growth and financial targets to bring value to our clients through efficient sourcing solutions.
  • Deliver best-in-class contracts across multiple categories (Services, Supplies, Non-Food Products for the Food Service Hospitality & Gaming Industry)
  • Ensure we are first to market with unique industry-shaping offers and related contracts by working expeditiously to complete projects
  • Build credible, long lasting relationships with multiple stakeholders, demonstrating that Foodbuy is the partner of choice in the industry
  • Maintain and utilize a robust understanding of supply market dynamics and present opportunities to derive new commercial advantage and mitigate risks

  • 3+ years Strategic Sourcing/Procurement Experience required; Category Management experience is a plus
  • Successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills with client centric focus and drive to delivery results in timely manner.
  • Experience in management of Indirect spend, procurement of Non-food hospitality products and the service industry
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Proven ability to work with both large and small sets of data to identify opportunities quickly and formulate strategic negotiations plans.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally with colleagues in operations, finance, customer service
  • Proven track record of ability to influence change in a cross functional organization
  • Strong networking skills, ability to influence and get things done through informal as well as formal channels
  • Outstanding presentation skills and selling skills to sell in key programs
  • Capacity to handle multiple changing agendas yet to stay in control of events
  • Experience of broader aspects of supply chain, as well as providing evidence of a broader business perspective such as balancing cost, value, risk & opportunity.
  • Ability to operate at fast pace in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to travel 10% to 20% annually.
  • Strong networking skills, ability to influence and get things done through informal as well as formal channels.
