Job Summary

The Voice Engineer is responsible for collaborating with a diverse team supporting Compass Group’s critical and fast-paced systems in a distributed network environment.

This role will build/configure/maintain on premises and remote site voice networks, complete escalated tech support tasks and tickets.  The engineer will ensure voice functionality and compliance with new security or performance requirements.


  • 2 – 5 years of experience with a combination of Voice over IP software and hardware engineering
  • 1 year of experience architecting solutions in a distributed networks environment

Job Requirements:

  • Manage and maintain voice equipment
  • Work with our internal customers to gather requirements to be used in creating highly reliable and scalable telephony solutions
  • Support disparate voice systems across diverse business needs
  • Assist in continued growth of our business by supporting the next generation of converged data/voice systems in our enterprise
  • Maintenance of voice environment documentation and procedures
  • Proficiency in  networking/distributed computing environment concepts (Routing protocols, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP)
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools
  • In-depth troubleshooting of software and hardware issues including root cause analysis
  • Functional knowledge of telephone porting process
  • Knowledge of Telecom Expense management
  • Security protocols (SSH, TLS, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • Project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at a time
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate - Voice (CCNA-Voice) or higher desired
  • ITIL v3 Foundations preferred
