Job Summary

The Sales & Marketing department at Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center is responsible for soliciting group business that enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in rooms, food and beverage and meeting activities.

The Sales Managers at Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center are responsible for contributing to the overall financial success of the hotel by meeting and/or exceeding established individual and team goals. The Sales Manager will actively solicit new and existing accounts while developing excellent client relationships.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Actively generate new business opportunities for Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, trade shows, community events, client entertainment, industry related meetings
  • Prepare correspondence to client, negotiate contracts, analyze lost business opportunities
  • Maintain/develop strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Develop sales strategy to meet and exceed established goals
  • Partner with operations departments to ensure highest level of service
  • Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, customers and competitor’s strengths/weaknesses


  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, hotel/resort is required
  • Bachelor’s degree, Hotel/Restaurant Management is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to close business and achieve sales goals
  • Excellent customer service skills, refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft operating systems, knowledge of Delphi is an asset
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced work environment
  • Must be professional, enthusiastic and a strong team player
  • Candidates should be extremely detail-oriented and organized
  • Must have own reliable transportation & possess a valid state driver’s license in order to make sales calls
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
