Job Summary

Play a key leadership role in delivering outstanding hospitality experiences across the University of Michigan. As the Assistant Director of Operations, you will support operational strategy, event execution, and team leadership across food and beverage programs. This role will focus on operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and ensuring Levy’s standards are consistently delivered across all venues and events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of hospitality or food service management experience

  • Experience in sports, entertainment, or large-scale venue operations preferred

  • Financial knowledge including budgeting and cost control

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools

  • Knowledge of food safety and alcohol service regulations

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support operational planning and execution for events and daily operations

  • Assist in managing multiple hospitality outlets across the venue

  • Monitor labor, service standards, and operational performance

  • Partner with culinary, beverage, and purchasing teams to ensure operational readiness

  • Address guest service issues and implement service improvements

  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards

  • Train and develop operational supervisors and managers

  • Assist in achieving revenue and cost management goals
