Job Summary

As the Housekeeping and Janitorial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all housekeeping, janitorial, cleanliness, and sanitation operations within the VIP Delta Sky Lounges at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction while managing daily operations, staffing, and compliance initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in janitorial services and team leadership, with a proven ability to develop employees, manage operational processes, and maintain a culture of accountability and service excellence. This position requires strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate all janitorial and housekeeping activities to ensure seamless daily operations and exceptional service delivery.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly team members, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and work areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • Respond promptly to service issues, customer concerns, and operational challenges, implementing effective corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring adequate supplies, equipment, and materials are available to support operations.
  • Ensure compliance with chemical safety standards, OSHA guidelines, company policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, audits, reports, and documentation related to staffing, inspections, training, and performance.
  • Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance needs to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between lounge leadership, airport stakeholders, and housekeeping teams to ensure alignment with customer expectations and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or facility services operations.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience, including supervising multiple employees and/or supervisors.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Staff scheduling and workforce management
    • Chemical safety and compliance
    • Inventory control and supply management
    • Quality assurance and quality control programs
    • Employee documentation and recordkeeping
    • Policy and procedure implementation and enforcement
    • Team building and employee development
    • Effective communication and conflict resolution
    • Problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous management experience in housekeeping, janitorial, hospitality, airport, healthcare, or other high-volume service environments.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
