Job Summary
The Regional Marketing Manager – Conference Centers & Events is responsible for increasing external awareness, generating qualified leads, and supporting revenue growth for three distinctive conference and event properties:
- Joseph B. Martin Conference Center
- David Rubenstein Treehouse
- Warren Conference Center & Inn
This is a hands-on marketing role requiring both strategic planning and direct execution. The Senior Marketing Manager will develop property-specific marketing programs that convert awareness into inquiries, site visits, proposals, booked events, and incremental revenue.
The position will build upon the marketing strategies, materials, relationships, and initiatives already established at each property. The expectation is to preserve existing momentum, advance the strongest work, and make targeted improvements—not begin again from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy and Positioning
- Develop and manage a distinct annual marketing plan for each property.
- Build upon existing marketing strategies, campaigns, collateral, photography, prospect lists, and market research.
- Establish clear value propositions and priority customer segments for each venue.
- Position each property appropriately without diluting its individual identity.
- Identify need periods, underutilized spaces, and revenue opportunities requiring targeted marketing support.
- Maintain separate campaign calendars, priorities, and performance measures for each property.
Lead Generation and Revenue Growth
- Develop marketing campaigns designed to generate qualified external event leads.
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists for corporate, healthcare, life-science, academic, association, nonprofit, government, and event-planning audiences.
- Create campaigns supporting executive meetings, conferences, leadership programs, retreats, receptions, corporate gatherings, weddings, and social events.
- Coordinate familiarization events, open houses, planner showcases, strategic partnerships, and other business-development programs.
- Ensure marketing-generated inquiries are captured, tracked, and transferred promptly to the appropriate sales team.
- Work with property sales leaders to convert marketing activity into site visits, proposals, bookings, and revenue.
Digital Marketing
- Manage targeted email, digital advertising, paid search, social media, retargeting, and event-marketplace initiatives.
- Improve website content, venue descriptions, photography selection, and calls to action.
- Strengthen search visibility for relevant meeting, conference, retreat, and event searches.
- Develop and maintain approved LinkedIn and social media content.
- Track website traffic, inquiries, conversions, campaign performance, and cost per qualified lead.
- Recommend the most effective communication channels for each property and target audience.
Content and Sales Support
- Develop venue-specific presentations, fact sheets, email templates, campaign materials, and digital collateral.
- Create event case studies, venue spotlights, customer testimonials, seasonal promotions, and sample event experiences.
- Produce content highlighting food and beverage, audiovisual capabilities, meeting environments, accommodations, outdoor spaces, and service.
- Maintain an organized library of current and approved marketing materials, photography, messaging, and brand assets.
- Support sales campaigns with targeted messaging, prospect research, and available-date promotions.
- Review lost-business information and use the findings to improve positioning and future campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, business, or a related field.
- Seven or more years of progressive marketing experience.
- Experience marketing conference centers, hotels, event venues, hospitality businesses, executive education programs, or comparable services.
- Demonstrated success generating qualified leads and measurable revenue through marketing.
- Strong digital marketing, email marketing, content development, and campaign-management experience.
- Ability to manage multiple brands, properties, priorities, and approval processes simultaneously.
- Excellent writing, presentation, project-management, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with senior leaders, sales teams, operating teams, and institutional communications departments.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close alignment with property stakeholders.
- Comfort participating in frequent live and in-person working meetings.
- Strong analytical skills and experience reporting marketing performance and return on investment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a university, healthcare, life-science, executive education, or complex institutional environment.
- Familiarity with CRM, email marketing, social media, web analytics, paid media, and lead-tracking platforms.
- Knowledge of the Boston, Cambridge, Longwood, and MetroWest meetings and events markets.
- Experience navigating formal brand, messaging, and communication-channel approval processes.
