Lead Exceptional Guest Experiences at One of Austin's Premier Hospitality Destinations

 

Located in the heart of Austin on the beautiful University of Texas campus, the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center is more than a hotel. It is a dynamic hospitality destination where world-class service, memorable guest experiences, and exceptional events come together.

We're seeking an energetic and service-driven Assistant Front Office Manager to help lead our Front Desk team and create unforgettable first and lasting impressions for guests from around the world. Whether welcoming business travelers, conference attendees, university visitors, alumni, or VIP guests, you'll play a critical role in delivering the elevated service experience that sets our property apart.

What You'll Do

 

As a key member of the Front Office leadership team, you will help drive an exceptional guest experience while overseeing the daily operations of the Front Desk.

 

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Inspire and lead the Front Desk team to deliver warm, personalized, and memorable guest experiences.
  • Uphold the highest service standards and ensure every guest interaction reflects our commitment to hospitality excellence.
  • Respond to guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and confidence, turning challenges into opportunities to exceed expectations.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty and participate in Lobby Ambassador responsibilities, maintaining a visible leadership presence throughout the property.
  • Coordinate VIP arrivals and special guest experiences to ensure flawless execution.

 

Operations & Hotel Performance

  • Partner with the Front Office Manager to oversee daily Front Desk operations and ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Collaborate with departments across the hotel to create seamless arrival, stay, and departure experiences.
  • Manage room inventory, reservation blocking, and occupancy strategies to optimize revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor reports, guest folios, reservation activity, and operational metrics to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review group resumes, arrival manifests, VIP alerts, and event details to proactively prepare the Front Office team for success.

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Front Desk colleagues to achieve individual and team success.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance management efforts.
  • Support workforce planning, scheduling, payroll administration, and attendance management.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture focused on teamwork and accountability.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute ideas that strengthen service, operations, and employee engagement.

What We're Looking For

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous hotel Front Office experience, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with guests, team members, and leaders.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Flexible availability is required, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts based on operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a full-service hotel, resort, conference center, or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, guest service standards, and revenue-focused inventory management.
