ASST DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, PATIENT TRANSPORT AND CONSTANT OBSERVATION

Schedule:  Full time; must be able to work varied shifts. This position will likely work a majority of 1st shift, but must be able to work 2nd and 3rd shift several times a month as needed.  More details are available upon interviewing.

Job Summary

The Asst Director of Patient Transport and Constant Observation will provide the primary support to ensure ideal workflow and exceptional service within the patient transport department.  They will oversee a team of approximately 50 patient transporter and constant observer frontline hourly associates as well as 2 managers and 1 supervisor.  



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing and recommending goals, policies, and procedures for the program or unit. 
  • Prepares, recommends, and monitors budgets. 
  • Coordinates the activities of sections within the program or unit, ensuring goals are met and performance is optimized. 
  • Supervise staff, develop performance standards, conduct evaluations, and recommend personnel actions. 
  • Establishes and maintains communication with various stakeholders, including administrators, staff, students, and external agencies. 
  • Administers and interprets applicable regulations and guidelines. 
  • May involve researching, analyzing, and summarizing data, and preparing reports. 
  • Identifies areas for improvement in operations and implements changes to enhance performance. 
  • Additional duties as assigned


 

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of performance and operations management techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and program evaluation
  • 1-3 years of management experience preferably in patient services
  • Strong work ethic, intense drive and initiative for quality and customer service
  • Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required
  • Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests and team members
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, internet research
