Setting: Pediatric Outpatient

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm. No weekend or holiday coverage needed.

Position Details: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Pediatric Clinical Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary team in the Outpatient Pediatric Cardiology Clinic. This role provides nutrition care to pediatric patients with a wide range of complex cardiac conditions. The dietitian will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and other team members to support patients and families through individualized nutrition interventions, education, and ongoing follow-up.

This position will participate in multiple specialty clinics, such as transplant, single ventricle, and feeding clinic. The role also includes administrative responsibilities, opportunities for quality improvement and research projects, and contributions to program development.

Job Summary

Touchpoint is seeking a Pediatric Dietitian Specialist in Austin, TX.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, counseling, and follow-up for pediatric patients with congenital or acquired heart disease in an outpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered nutrition care plans.
  • Participate in specialty cardiology clinics, including but not limited to single ventricle, transplant, feeding clinic, and other subspecialty programs as assigned.
  • Document care in the electronic medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Provide nutrition-related education to patients, caregivers, and staff.
  • Contribute to clinical program development, quality improvement initiatives, and research efforts.
  • Assist with administrative duties related to scheduling, patient care coordination, and clinic flow.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practice in pediatric cardiology and nutrition.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
  • Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required; active state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Pediatric experience preferred; experience in cardiology, transplant, or complex medical conditions highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Work Schedule:
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, primarily during daytime clinic hours.
  • Occasional flexibility required for specialty clinics or patient needs.
