Job Summary
The HR Generalist responsible for general Admin/HR duties. This is an in System-based role that is Hybrid for onsite, remote and some travel. They are an integral part of the team for successful outcomes. They are entrusted to build strong relationships with both managers and employees. They are an integral partner in assuring general admin /HR documents and files are prepared and assist operations in some admin duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management staff in preparing employee relations issues (they are not directly managing this) they will support the managers with opening HRAG tickets) and sending in information on their behalf.
- Issues needing higher level support will be deferred to the HRBP. They will assist with steps to support the need with HRAG, they can also escalate open tickets.
- Work with onsite management team for training and safety compliance
- Maintain confidential personnel files to be ready for inspection or surveys
- Coordinates and conducts management training related to this area (i.e.: terminations, sexual harassment, performance management).
- Investigates and advises management in appropriate resolution of associate relations issues.
- Coordinates/conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Makes recommendations to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Supports internal customer survey and associate satisfaction interpretation/feedback process.
- Attends Operational meetings to increase HR visibility, conduct classroom training, provide assistance and implement account HR initiatives.
- Coordinates and conducts management training related to the areas of interviewing, selection and hiring.
- Assists managers in developing and implementing recruitment plans to increase qualified applicant flow.
- Provides support and tools to unit management to build relations and make presentations at schools, organizations, community associates and job fairs regarding the organization and opportunities.
- Identifies critical needs areas and escalate to the HRBP, for appropriate steps to rectify problems.
- Conducts HR Assessments, as needed
- Regularly conducts HR related training (i.e.: Sexual Harassment, Progressive Discipline, HR 101).
- Supports Preferred Employer objectives and HR business plan by attending and participating in operational meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three to five years’ experience working in the hospitality, healthcare or restaurant setting with thorough knowledge of general HR practices and employment branding.
- General HR experience is preferred with working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems, HRIS and databases.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Excellent in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively. Ability to manage multiple projects and work streams.Ability to work independently and analyze data to solve complex problems and demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
- Self-driven and motivated and ability to work on multiple projects at a time.
- This role reports to the Sr. Director of Human Resources within the Centralized Staffing Team but is based out of approved unit(s). This role has dotted line to the RDO of the locations that are supported.
