Salary:  $55,000 - $65,000 / year

Job Summary:

The Café Manager @ Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a hospital café and grab-and-go food service location. This role ensures excellent customer service, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, manages inventory and cash handling procedures, and supports the overall success of the café while operating within budget guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Oversee the daily operations of the hospital café, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
•    Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health department, and hospital standards.
•    Monitor food quality, product presentation, and customer service to ensure a positive guest experience.
•    Manage inventory levels, place product orders, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
•    Perform cash handling duties, including monitoring sales, deposits, and reconciliation procedures.
•    Assist with planning and promoting café events, seasonal offerings, and special promotions.
•    Monitor operating expenses and support budget goals by controlling waste and managing costs.
•    Ensure proper operation and maintenance of food service equipment.
•    Address customer concerns and resolve service-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
•    Complete required reports, documentation, and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:
•    1-3 years of supervisory or management experience in food service, café, restaurant, cafeteria, hospital, or related hospitality operations.
•    Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
•    Experience with inventory management, ordering, and cash handling procedures. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred:
•    Demonstrated ability to manage a café, coffee shop, or grab-and-go food service operation.
•    Experience working in a hospital, healthcare, cafeteria, or institutional food service environment.
•    ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent food safety certification.
