Job Summary
The David Rubenstein Treehouse is a premier, high-end conference destination known for exceptional service, sophisticated meeting spaces, and curated guest experiences. We serve educational, association, and executive clientele seeking a refined, distraction-free environment for meetings, retreats, and events.
We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and position the conference center as a first-choice venue for high-value meetings and events. This role requires a strategic, relationship-driven sales leader with deep experience in hospitality, meetings & events, or luxury venues.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to maximize group, conference, and event revenue.
- Drive year-over-year growth across key segments, including corporate meetings, executive retreats, associations, and buyouts.
- Oversee pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and yield management in partnership with revenue and operations teams.
- Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and demand patterns to inform sales initiatives.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and collaboration.
- Set clear sales goals, KPIs, and forecasting processes; regularly track performance against targets.
- Recruit, onboard, and train sales talent aligned with the conference center’s brand and service philosophy.
Client Relationships & Business Development
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, meeting planners, corporate decision-makers, and industry partners.
- Act as a senior-level ambassador for the conference center, hosting site visits, client events, and industry networking activities.
- Pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach, strategic partnerships, and targeted sales campaigns.
Collaboration & Guest Experience
- Partner closely with Operations, Events, Marketing, and Finance to ensure seamless execution from sale through event delivery.
- Ensure all sales commitments align with the conference center’s service standards and operational capabilities.
- Support exceptional client experiences by participating in key events and overseeing high-profile programs as needed.
Marketing & Brand Positioning
- Collaborate with Marketing on branding, messaging, collateral, and digital sales tools.
- Represent the conference center at trade shows, industry events, and sales missions.
- Contribute insights to marketing strategies that elevate the center’s luxury positioning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 8–10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in hospitality, conference centers, hotels, resorts, or luxury event venues.
- Proven success driving high-revenue group and conference sales.
- Strong understanding of the meetings & events marketplace, including educational, corporate and association segments.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sales analytics, and forecasting tools.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to support client needs and events.
