Job Summary

Help grow a workplace where people and hospitality flourish. As the Director of HR, you will lead all human resources functions for Levy's operation at the New York Botanical Garden and support the HR function at the National Geogrphic Museum in Washington, DC.  This position will require up to 40% travel and a flexible schedule based on business needs.  Position is based in New York.

You will partner with operational leadership to recruit, develop, engage, and retain a high-performing workforce while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. This role will champion an inclusive culture and support operational excellence through strategic people leadership.

 

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

· Five or more years of progressive human resources leadership experience.

· Experience supporting hospitality, food service, entertainment, or large event operations preferred.

· Working knowledge of federal, New York State, and local employment laws.

· Experience with employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and compliance.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.

· SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Lead all human resources functions for the operation.

· Develop and execute recruiting and onboarding strategies.

· Advise leaders on employee relations and performance management.

· Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.

· Manage leave administration, investigations, and corrective action processes.

· Partner with leadership on workforce planning and succession planning.

· Oversee training, engagement, and recognition initiatives.

· Monitor HR metrics and recommend continuous improvements.

· Support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.

· Promote Levy's culture, values, and hospitality standards.
