  • We are hiring immediately for a Full and Part Time Chesterton’s Pub Supervisor position.

Job Summary

The Chesterton’s Pub Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of a small, on-campus pub that serves as a social, dining, and community space for students, faculty, staff, and campus guests. This role involves supervising student staff, maintaining service and safety standards, and supporting a welcoming environment aligned with institutional policies and values. The ideal candidate will have a balance of hospitality experience, leadership skills, and a commitment to student engagement and responsible service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the campus pub, including food and beverage service, staff coverage, and cleanliness
  • Provide leadership and oversight for student employees, including training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, campus policies, and safety regulations
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering food, beverages, and supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support events such as trivia nights, live music, game screenings, and themed programming
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere for all guests
  • Handle customer service issues promptly and professionally
  • Assist with POS (Point of Sale) system operations
  • Enforce ID checking procedures and age restrictions in accordance with applicable laws
  • Serve as a liaison between the pub and relevant university departments (e.g., Dining Services, Student Life, Facilities)
