General Description:

In this role, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager and the broader marketing team including the videographer, graphic designer, and coordinator to implement and promote the dining program at Boise State University. You’ll help create excitement around dining events, engage with the campus community, and produce content that connects with students across social media platforms.

This is not your average internship, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects, contribute ideas, and request assignments that align with your interests and career goals. It’s a great opportunity for anyone passionate about marketing, content creation, and campus life.

As an Online Ordering Marketing Intern, you will also serve as a Boost Ambassador, promoting and educating students about Boost, the mobile ordering platform used at Boise State. You’ll help increase awareness and usage of the app through creative campaigns, peer engagement, and digital content.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to stay informed about daily, weekly, and monthly dining events.
  • Create and post engaging content on Instagram, YouTube, and other platforms.
  • Film and edit short-form videos (up to 60 seconds) using mobile and desktop tools.
  • Design graphics using Canva or similar platforms.
  • Assist with the development and management of the social media calendar.
  • Participate in tabling events and engage with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Act as a brand representative and help build relationships across campus.
  • Promote and educate students about the Boost mobile ordering app.
  • Assist with online ordering promotions and digital signage updates.
  • Help manage website and social media content.
  • Support event planning, setup, and execution.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, outgoing personality
  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube)
  • Comfortable being on camera and interacting with others
  • Experience with mobile and desktop video editing
  • Proficiency in Canva or similar design tools
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling
  • Customer service experience is a plus
  • Prior marketing or event planning experience is a plus
  • Being a foodie is a bonus!

Job Summary

This position is paid, but not eligible for benefits such as medical, relocation, or housing.

 

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods.  Business needs may vary from year to year.
