Job Summary
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three plus years of experience in Planning, Design, Construction Project Management in a healthcare or senior living setting. They will be well-rounded in the process of developing design concepts, retail environments, brands, as well as construction methods, budgeting, bid process, construction project management, and be knowledgeable of construction requirements specific to Healthcare and Senior Living environments. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and people skills and be comfortable speaking, writing and presenting in both executive and jobsite surroundings. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to guide and manage projects from conceptual planning through construction developing transformational project initiatives. Qualified candidates will have had experience overseeing large scale Design Development, Contract Development, and Construction Process for multiple projects, coordinating needs for the Client, Architect, Engineer, and General Contractor. They will work closely with Retail Leadership, Culinary Leadership & Operations Leadership in developing these Retail and Kitchen projects driving Innovation.
Job Responsibilities
- Communicates regularly with other management members to include Operational leadership and Client leadership regarding project status.
- Oversees and leads diverse project teams in a collaborative development process.
- Establishes a best practice approach for Planning, Design and Construction practices and aligns with sector strategy and brand standards.
- Leads transformation of space with innovative solutions for environment, hospitality and operational efficiency. Also supports Client new build efforts when consulting relationships are established.
- Leads relationship building between all Operational leaders, Culinary Leadership and Retail Innovations Design & Planning team. Focuses on the development of relationship retention between Retail Innovations and our Internal Clients, External clients, and Customers.
- Creates innovative tools and processes to streamline project dependencies and completion in order to manage client expectations and unify our design & planning teams, partners, and clients.
- Defines and develops contractual obligations through definition of scope of work for design services, FF&E packages, construction proposals, budgeting process, and buildout execution.
- Pursues profitability for projects by empowering and realigning human capital and value engineering through effective management of available resources.
- Oversees and approves design team packages & proposals for assigned projects.
- Oversees and approves projects with operations team, Architect, Engineer, and GC to ensure that design meets expectations, project criteria, budget, schedule parameters, and project terms.
- Supervises budget process, oversees projects schedules and reconciliations to meet project standards and deliverables that align with sector procedures.
- Forecasts, identifies, and informs of potential hurdles and conflicts to the field and Clients and readjusts timelines and resources accordingly.
- Liaisons with Brand Managers, Operations teams, Culinary teams, Marketing Managers and Client Project Managers on projects status and project developments.
- Develops innovative procedures and activities that promote and nurture retail, brand solutions, small site development, and design & planning initiatives.
- Supports Brand partners with implementation & integration into Compass.
- Works closely with Foodbuy to ensure full compliance and alignment with purchasing efforts, initiatives, and programs. Motivates for continuous improvement and opportunities with a WIN-WIN approach for all parties involved.
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in Planning, Design, Construction Project Management in Healthcare/Senior Living.
- 3+ years of foodservice / hospitality industry construction or design experience strongly desired.
- Bachelor’s Degree in design, engineering or construction related field preferred. Street Retail Brand experience / knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of Architectural & Engineering Process and coordination.
- knowledge of Custom Millwork Fabrication, Equipment manufacturing & distribution, and general FF&E knowledge. AutoCAD/REVIT and Bluebeam knowledge desired.
- Great working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Project, Excel, and PPT essential.
- Demonstrated experience working under pressure and managing multiple tasks / multiple projects / multiple teams exceeding sector and client expectations.
- Dedication & Commitment to quality and detail. High level Writing and Presentation skills.
- High level communication skills, technical skills, and creative skills.
- Capable of traveling up to 30% of the time to meet with clients and operators. Fully remote unless living near a Compass office and office space is desired. Must live near a major airport.
