Job Summary

Locations: Brockton, MA: BMC South / Good Samaritan Hospital or Boston, MA: BMC Brighton / St. Elizabeth’s Hospital

Morrison Healthcare is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead culinary operations in a high-volume healthcare environment. This role oversees all kitchen operations, ensures safe and sanitary practices, and drives exceptional patient and guest dining experiences in alignment with corporate standards and healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute regular and modified patient menus in accordance with healthcare dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure meals follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards, conducting tastings for quality assurance.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local health regulations and achieve high scores on health and third-party audits.
  • Oversee cleaning and maintenance schedules for all kitchen equipment, storage, and work areas.
  • Manage food and non-food inventories, ensuring availability while adhering to budget and waste-reduction guidelines.
  • Lead efficient batch and institutional cooking processes to support patient meals, retail dining, and catering events.
  • Participate in client satisfaction programs and departmental initiatives to enhance the patient and guest experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive culinary and kitchen management experience; healthcare or institutional foodservice experience highly desirable.
  • Hands-on chef experience in high-volume and batch cooking required.
  • Strong background in food cost control, catering, and quality-focused presentation.
  • ServSafe® certification highly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and kitchen management software.
