Job Summary

Bring your creativity and leadership to one of Boston’s most multifaceted destinations. As Sous Chef at the Museum of Science, you’ll oversee a vibrant mix of culinary operations, including a bustling café, lively food hall, artisanal coffee bar, and exciting daytime catering and events. You’ll encourage and manage a team of about 20 associates, ensuring every dish delights guests and reflects Restaurant Associates’ dedication to excellence.

This is more than a kitchen role; it’s an opportunity to showcase your culinary vision in a setting that connects food, culture, and community. With daytime hours (weekends included) and no late-night shifts, you’ll enjoy a balance between an exciting career and your personal life. This role also offers free parking.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Executive Chef to compose fresh, seasonal menus for multiple outlets
  • Lead the execution of service in multiple outlets, including catering and daytime events that leave a lasting impression
  • Coach and mentor your team to deliver outstanding food quality and hospitality
  • Manage ordering, inventory, and cost controls with precision
  • Roll out innovative culinary programs in collaboration with our marketing and culinary teams
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation

What We’re Looking For

  • Culinary degree (A.S.) or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Proven success in high-volume or multifaceted foodservice operations
  • Catering and event experience is a big plus
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to encourage and grow your team
  • A creative, entrepreneurial mindset and passion for hospitality
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic digital literacy
  • ServSafe certification (or willingness to acquire)
