Job Summary

As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department within the facility. This role involves supervising food preparation and cooking, developing daily menu items, and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. You will collaborate closely with the General Manager and may oversee hourly associates. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary professional.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager to align on operational goals and service standards
  • Plan and create menus that reflect client needs and culinary trends
  • Lead the production and execution of catering events
  • Implement new culinary programs in coordination with the company’s marketing and culinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies
  • Provide leadership and training to kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing team

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
  • Progressive culinary and kitchen management experience (level may vary based on education)
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
  • Catering experience is a strong plus
  • Institutional and batch cooking experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost control, and presentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications
  • Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable
