About the Role:
The Business Analyst Intern will support Compass Group’s multi-year ERP system upgrade initiative. This internship provides hands-on exposure to enterprise system transformation, cross-functional collaboration, and Agile delivery practices within a complex, large-scale organization.
Throughout the summer, you may rotate across 2-3 Functional Process Workstreams to gain broad exposure to business processes and system implementation activities. In addition to supporting day-to-day Business Analyst responsibilities, you will complete a structured summer project and deliver a final presentation summarizing your contributions and key learnings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Business Analysts in gathering and documenting current-state processes and future-state requirements
- Assist with stakeholder meetings by preparing materials, capturing notes, and tracking follow-ups
- Contribute to drafting business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria under guidance from senior team members
- Help analyze business workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and team demonstrations
- Assist with documentation updates and backlog organization
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), including drafting test cases, tracking results, and validating outcomes
- Help evaluate system outputs to ensure alignment with defined business requirements
Summer Project:
In addition to rotational team support, you may complete a structured summer project aligned with a key ERP initiative. This project will allow you to apply business analysis concepts in a focused, high-impact area:
- Documenting and analyzing a selected business process to identify efficiency improvements
- Supporting a feature rollout and developing training or process documentation
At the conclusion of the internship, you may present to cross-functional team members and leadership, highlighting:
- Teams and functional areas supported
- Key deliverables and contributions
- Insights gained about ERP implementation and Agile delivery
- Recommendations or observations from your summer project

Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Interest in business process improvement, ERP systems, or digital transformation initiatives
Preferred:
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred) through coursework or projects
- Familiarity with Agile concepts
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Miro or Azure DevOps
