Location: Charlotte or Hybrid
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 + variable bonus
Reports To: Director of Learning & Development

Role Overview

The Learning Design Manager designs and develops scalable digital and on‑the‑job training programs that support Canteen’s systems, workflows, and business initiatives. This role translates documentation and SME expertise into clear learning experiences that help associates perform effectively. You will collaborate closely with system owners, operations leaders, and cross‑functional teams to ensure training aligns with real operational processes. The ideal candidate brings instructional design expertise, modern learning technology experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs across corporate and field environments.
  • Determine learning approaches such as eLearning, onboarding, job aids, or reference tools.
  • Design role‑based, operationally aligned learning experiences.
  • Translate SOPs, user guides, and SME input into clear, practical training content.
  • Develop blended learning solutions including eLearning, microlearning, and performance support.
  • Partner with SMEs to validate content and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage learning projects from scoping through deployment.
  • Update training as systems and processes evolve.
  • Collect learner feedback and support training effectiveness measurement.
  • Use modern tools, including AI, to streamline content design and development.
  • Facilitate documentation sessions with SMEs to capture workflows and processes.
  • Curate and compile documentation used to support training creation.
  • Support additional projects as directed by L&D leadership.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in instructional design, learning design, or L&D.
  • Strong proficiency in Articulate Storyline and Rise.
  • Experience creating blended learning and performance support materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts into easy-to-understand learning.
  • Experience working with SMEs and business partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, HR, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Responsible use of AI tools to enhance learning development.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing training for operational systems or evolving business processes.
  • Comfort working in fast‑paced or operationally complex environments.
  • Familiarity with learning effectiveness measurement or analytics.
  • Experience facilitating instructor‑led training or workshops.
