Position Title: NIGHT FACILITIES ASSISTANT MANAGER

Location: Charlotte, NC

Shift: Night Shift (Full-Time) (Monday – Friday) 8:00pm – 4:30am (weekends as needed)

 

Salary: $50,000 - $52,000

Job Summary

The Assistant Night Janitorial Manager is responsible for supporting the daily management and execution of janitorial operations within a large-scale Warehouse fulfillment environment. This role provides direct leadership to frontline associates, ensuring all cleaning services are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with ESFM, Compass Group, and client standards.
The Assistant Night Janitorial Manager will assist with staffing, training, quality assurance inspections, employee engagement, safety compliance, client relations, and operational performance while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility.


Key Responsibilities


Operations Management


•    Assist in overseeing nightly janitorial operations within a fast-paced client facility.
•    Ensure all scheduled cleaning tasks are completed according to site scope of work and client expectations.
•    Monitor cleaning quality through routine inspections and audits.
•    Support execution of floor care programs, restroom sanitation, trash removal, warehouse cleaning, breakroom maintenance, and high-touch surface disinfection.
•    Respond promptly to client requests and operational needs.

 

Team Leadership


•    Supervise janitorial associates, shift supervisors, trash technicians, and floor technicians during assigned shifts.
•    Conduct daily shift huddles and communicate operational priorities.
•    Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
•    Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
•    Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment.


Safety & Compliance


•    Ensure compliance with all Compass Group, ESFM, OSHA, and client safety requirements.
•    Conduct routine safety observations and corrective actions as needed.
•    Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and safety concerns.
•    Maintain proper use of PPE and safe equipment operation.


Staffing & Administrative Duties


•    Assist with scheduling and labor planning to support operational needs.
•    Support payroll review and timekeeping accuracy.
•    Monitor attendance and address performance concerns appropriately.
•    Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring activities as needed.
•    Maintain accurate records, reports, and operational documentation.


Client Relations


•    Build and maintain strong working relationships with client operations and support teams.
•    Participate in client meetings, audits, and site walks.
•    Address client concerns professionally and ensure timely resolution.
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

 

Qualifications

 


Required


•    High school diploma or GED.
•    Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
•    Experience leading teams in janitorial, facilities, hospitality, warehouse, manufacturing, or related environments.
•    Strong communication and organizational skills.
•    Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
•    Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.


Preferred


•    Janitorial or facilities management experience.
•    Experience working in large distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
•    Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
•    Experience with floor care equipment, scrubbers, sweepers, and warehouse cleaning programs.
•    Knowledge of staffing, payroll, quality assurance audits, and performance management.


Physical Requirements


•    Ability to work extended periods standing and walking throughout a large facility.
•    Ability to lift, push, pull, and move cleaning equipment and supplies.
