Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst manages joint venture profit split calculations, invoicing, and reporting with sector finance teams. They handle monthly closes, budget and forecast analysis, and contract compliance, while seeking process improvements. They support contractual and quarterly burden rate reconciliations for key clients, collaborating with various teams to deliver accurate financial insights.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sector finance to manage joint venture profit-split calculations, monthly invoicing, payment schedules, activity audits, and make recommendations to improve the process
  • Lead monthly accounting close activities, including journal entries, and complete analysis at both the operation and corporate level to ensure accuracy across P&L and balance sheet accounts
  • Monitor and analyze contractual data to identify trends and deliver reporting that informs key business decisions
  • Support client and contractual reconciliations and prepare quarterly burden rate reconciliation for a major client account
  • Review monthly budget analysis, forecasts, and annual budgets for assigned accounts, translating data insights into meaningful support for sector finance and key customers
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to boost efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve the accuracy and consistency of financial reporting
  • Develop and implement procedures and controls that ensure compliance with client contracts
  • Bring strong critical thinking to independently assess situations, form recommendations, and confidently present your conclusions
  • Handle confidential HR and benefits data with discretion and professionalism
  • Contribute to special projects assigned by leadership, with opportunities to broaden your impact across the business
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Compass Group, including Benefits and Compensation, Risk Management, Legal, Labor Relations, Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning, Payroll, and sector financial leadership, building relationships and visibility across the organization

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting/finance experience (public accounting and/or industry)
  • Strong communication skills; experience with cross-sector/corporate communication; ability to influence when no direct authority exists
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA/CPA Candidate
  • Blackline, SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, Power BI or SQL experience is a plus
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Process automation experience
  • Master’s degree in Accounting
