Job Summary

The Strategic Project Manager PMO will bring structure, pace, and accountability to high-priority initiatives across Support Services and the growing data center portfolio. This role will coordinate cross-functional work from strategy through implementation, establish clear governance and reporting, and ensure that decisions turn into measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a complex, fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and success depends on influence rather than direct authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic projects supporting Support Services growth, data center readiness, operating model
    evolution, and cross-sector initiatives.
  • Manage portfolio intake, prioritization, sequencing, and resource planning; evaluate value, urgency, risk,
dependencies, and capacity to recommend trade-offs and allocation decisions to leadership.
  • Build project charters, workplans, milestones, dependencies, risk registers, decision logs, and executive
    reporting.
  • Coordinate work across operations, finance, solutions, sales and growth, EHS, HR, procurement,
    technology, and external partners.
  • Translate business objectives into practical project plans with clear owners, dates, measures, and
    escalation paths.
  • Prepare concise updates for senior leaders that identify progress, decisions required, risks, and business
    impact.
  • Establish repeatable PMO standards, templates, meeting cadences, and governance routines for the
    Support Services Hub.
  • Track financial, operational, talent, and implementation assumptions for data center pursuits and active
    programs.
  • Identify barriers early, drive resolution, and maintain momentum across teams with competing priorities.
  • Support post-launch reviews and convert lessons learned into improved processes and playbooks.
  • Maintain the portfolio management system and executive dashboards as the authoritative source for
project status, decisions, risks, dependencies, and benefits.
  • Lead formal project closeout, acceptance, documentation transfer, stabilization, and transition to
    operational ownership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations, project management, engineering, or a related field;
    equivalent experience considered.
  • Five or more years of experience leading complex, cross-functional projects or PMO work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, senior stakeholders, deadlines, and competing
    priorities.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including comfort with budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and business
    cases.
  • Experience in facilities management, foodservice, construction, engineering, data centers, outsourcing, or
    another complex operating environment preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex work easy for leaders to
    understand.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to operating locations, client sites, and data center markets.

What Success Looks Like

  • Priority initiatives have clear scope, owners, milestones, and decisions.
  • Leaders have timely visibility into risks, dependencies, and business impact.
  • Projects move from planning to execution with fewer surprises and stronger follow-through.
  • PMO practices are consistent enough to scale across Support Services and data center opportunities.
  • The role becomes a trusted operating partner who brings clarity and momentum to important work.

Working Relationships
This role partners closely with Support Services leadership, operations, finance, solutions and growth, human
resources, data center stakeholders, and the broader Compass Group talent organization. The role requires
strong executive presence, practical judgment, and the ability to move between strategy and execution.
