Job Summary
The Territory Optimization Manager plays a key role in advancing Canteen’s Operational Excellence strategy. This position focuses on designing and refining delivery and service territories to drive workforce efficiency, cut costs, and elevate field service quality. You’ll collaborate with regional leadership and data teams to reshape how labor and resources are deployed across diverse markets. Key Responsibilities

Design and optimize service territories to reduce travel time, balance labor, and improve route efficiency

Analyze labor data, time-in-motion metrics, and route performance using GIS, routing tools, and Compass analytics platforms

Identify inefficiencies and propose actionable solutions to enhance labor utilization, delivery accuracy, and service consistency

Collaborate with Regional Directors, District Managers, and frontline teams to align strategies with real-world conditions

Translate business goals into scalable, data-driven territory models that boost productivity and associate satisfaction

Track KPIs such as route efficiency, labor cost per service, and on-time performance to drive continuous improvement

Partner with IT, systems, and BI teams to integrate optimization strategies into enterprise platforms

Mentor regional planners to promote operational excellence and encourage accountability and teamwork

Lead change management efforts including communications, training, and rollout of revised service models

Travel up to 30% to engage field teams, support implementation, gather feedback, and ensure success
Qualifications
Required
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistical or route-based planning (e.g., field service, facilities, or delivery logistics)

Proven experience managing cross-functional projects and field operations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex data to varied audiences

High attention to detail with a strong analytical mindset
-
Proficient in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Preferred

Experience using GIS systems or routing tools (e.g., Descartes)

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or related field
-
Prior experience in a large, matrixed organization
