Position Title: Analyst, Market & Competitor Intelligence 

​Salary:  $70,000 - 80,000 (commensurate with experience)

Job Summary

E15 is seeking out a motivated and ambitious individual to support the growth of the Compass Group North America market and competitive intelligence initiatives. As a market and competitive intelligence analyst on the E15 Research & Insights team you will be expected to sift through vast amounts of information – including but not limited to market trends, client behaviors, financial data, demographic data, competitor data - and synthesize this vast information into a viewpoint that articulates opportunities, threats, and more for the various industries where Compass Group operates. As a researcher and analyst, you will have the opportunity to operationalize our intelligence cycle from collection, to collation, analysis, and dissemination. This role will often work on multiple projects at once and face competing priorities, requiring dedicated time management.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth, ongoing research and analysis of companies, industries, technologies, markets, and more and translate into a narrative summarizing key pain points, strengths, and opportunities
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape, including competitor strategies, partnerships, and emerging technologies, to anticipate market shifts and inform proactive decisions
  • Take part in the development of the market intelligence vertical of the Research and Insights team, formulating processes and developing best practices
  • Track industries of interest to Compass, including but not limited to sports, workplace dining, healthcare, senior living, higher education, and more
  • Retrieve accurate and relevant data using a wide array of data sources
  • Advocate for data-driven decision making at Compass Group North America
  • Monitor and analyze key trends related to foodservice and facilities management
  • Cultivate strong relationships with E15 peers and Compass Group North America colleagues to foster effective cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment
  • Utilize internal and external data to answer a variety of business questions
  • Manage workload and project pipeline and ensure expectations and deadlines are met

You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

  • A proactive approach, are resourceful, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent research, analytical, written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to conduct research, derive connections, and synthesize large amounts of information into clear and compelling takeaways
  • Experience in competitive intelligence, including knowledge of the intelligence cycle and developing deliverables for leadership that enable strategic decision making
  • The ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and under time pressure, pivoting as needs and priorities change
  • An acute attention to detail and track record of delivering pristine reports and presentations
  • Proficiency with using the Microsoft Office suite or other platforms to analyze data and communicate complex ideas to non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in business, finance, engineering, or a related field.
  • Some foodservice industry experience, including understanding the contract management side of the industry

Travel expectation: 5-10%
