Job Summary
The Compass Creative Studio, which focuses on creating engaging and attractive sales content for Compass Group’s sales teams, is looking for a Content Specialist who is passionate about crafting compelling copy – and telling a great story. Reporting to the VP of the creative team, this person will write and edit sales content, and work closely with the team to produce top-quality work.
This role requires a team player who can collaborate with art directors and designers to develop the best visual presentation for stories – and a self-starter who can work independently on multiple projects. This editor should be someone who thrives in a creative environment and who understands the importance of deadlines and details. Must be based in Chicago, IL.
Functions:
Create compelling copy for sales proposals to drive client interest.
Work closely with other team members, collaborating and brainstorming together on multiple projects.
Partner with sales teams to ensure copy and content is meeting their needs.
Gather and determine information needed to create custom content.
Collaborate with team’s designers to craft the best design corresponding to content.
Research and interview to write case studies.
Edit all copy for accuracy and grammar, according to AP style guidelines.
Experience & Skills Required:
2+ years as a writer and editor – sales proposal environment and RFP experience is a plus.
An excellent communicator with the ability to be a conversational and engaging writer but also able to cover technical details.
An excellent researcher with the ability to distill key information and then craft it into an enjoyable content experience.
A natural storyteller with the ability to emulate a strong voice and tone for multiple brands.
A confident leader who takes initiative and likes a creative challenge.
Able to meet short and long deadlines, and switch gears quickly when needed.
Highly organized and detail-oriented – able to multitask and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite.
Open and receptive to critiques and changes.
Knowledge of sports, entertainment industry and/or hospitality is a plus.
