Job Summary

Support the creation and maintenance of a safe, compliant, and high-performing food service environment by partnering with unit leadership to uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and quality assurance (QA) standards. This role helps reduce risk, workers compensation and general liability exposure through proactive audits, training, incident review, and clear communication with leaders and teams across assigned locations in an acute care setting.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Champion implementation, monitoring, and verification of food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and QA standards across assigned units.
•    Assist managers with Health Department requirements and third-party sanitation protocols; support preparation for external audits and inspections.
•    Partner with onsite IP & Accreditation teams to ensure readiness for JCAHO audit.
•    Develop and document corrective action plans for audit/inspection findings; partner with unit leaders to drive timely, effective resolution.
•    Conduct/participate in back-of-house inspections and QA/equipment audits; identify operational risks and recommend controls (including PPE use and safe work practices).
•    Support incident and claim processes: train/coach leaders on reporting procedures, review accident investigations, and help ensure accurate, timely submissions.
•    Analyze safety and claims data, track status, and provide clear updates to site and regional leadership (e.g., Unit Director, Regional Director, VPO, RVP, and executive partners as needed).
•    Maintain working knowledge of OSHA requirements; support OSHA log accuracy and delivery/documentation of required safety lessons.
•    Support compliance with material handling equipment and required training/certifications.
•    Track ServSafe certification compliance and help maintain required documentation.
•    Assist with chemical inventory checks and ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) are available and current.
•    Support implementation of Emergency Response Plans and evacuation training.
•    Promote company/brand safety and sanitation best practices and reinforce adherence to guidelines, core standards, and training manuals.
•    Participate in regular review meetings with leadership, risk management, and sanitation partners; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Perform additional safety, QA, and operational tasks as needed to support unit success.

 

Qualifications & Requirements
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate clearly in time-sensitive situations and provide actionable written feedback.
•    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments, clients, and multi-unit teams.
•    Highly organized, detail-focused, and consistent with follow-through; able to work independently with sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
•    English reading, writing, math, and computer skills required.
•    OSHA 10-Hour certification (required or ability to obtain).
•    Experience supporting multi-unit or distributed food service operations (preferred).
•    Schedule: stamina to work 60+ hours/week and extended shifts (10+ hours) as business dictates; flexible availability including weekends and event days.
•    Physical requirements and work environment: ability to reach, lift, stoop, and bend; extensive standing/walking (including stairs). Potential hazards include slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts, and strains.
