Job Summary

This Sous Chef role is truly the driving culinary force at this location. You’ll enjoy a balanced Monday–Friday schedule while leading the daily operations of the Culinary Department in an acute care environment. In this position, you’ll oversee food preparation and production, guide menu development and presentation, and ensure exceptional quality across all offerings. You’ll also supervise hourly team members, contribute creative menu ideas, and manage ordering responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cost controls and manage account expenditures

  • Plan, design, and execute menus

  • Produce and support occasional catering events (1–2 per year)

  • Implement new culinary programs in partnership with the company’s marketing and culinary teams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
  • Catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities 
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
