Job Summary
As a Purchasing Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen is stocked with the highest quality ingredients. You will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to support our culinary operations. Your expertise in selecting the best products will directly impact the quality of our dishes and overall guest satisfaction. This includes implementing best practices, driving purchase process improvements, and employing location purchasing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Source and purchase high-quality ingredients from reputable suppliers.
• Negotiate prices and contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to understand ingredient needs and preferences.
• Monitor market trends and seasonal availability of ingredients.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Conduct regular audits of inventory and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Chef or similar role in the culinary industry.
• Strong knowledge of food products, suppliers, and market trends.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in inventory management software.
• Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
