Job Summary
Summary: Provide polished, attentive food and beverage service to members and guests of the 1922 Club, a private, full-service restaurant combining the comfort and personal connection of a country club with the service standards and atmosphere of an upscale steakhouse. This position is responsible for creating a refined yet welcoming dining experience through knowledgeable menu guidance, precise execution, thoughtful bar service, and genuine hospitality. This position creates a polished yet welcoming bar experience through precise beverage execution, knowledgeable recommendations, attentive service, and genuine hospitality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Sets up assigned bars; requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
- Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.
- Greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner.
- Takes and/or processes orders for drinks; mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes; practices prudent portion control.
- Checks guests at the bar for proper identification.
- Detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws.
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges and ensures vouchers are properly executed.
- Locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops; secures bank.
- Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards; keeps work area clean and organized.
- Arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area.
- Washes and sterilizes stemware.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Short Description
QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous bartending experience in a full-service restaurant, private club, fine-dining, upscale bar, or hospitality environment preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible beverage service.
• Genuine commitment to hospitality and creating welcoming, personalized experiences for members and guests.
• Ability to accurately follow recipes and consistently execute beverages to established quality and presentation standards.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage bar guests, dining orders, and service-well responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and responsible alcohol service practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with culinary, beverage, service, support, and management teams.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift or carry up to 30 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, game days, and special events based on the Club’s operating schedule.
