Job Summary

Job Summary: 

The Food & Beverage Manager oversees front-of-house food and beverage operations for conventions, meetings, banquets, and special events. This role is responsible for leading service teams, ensuring operational excellence, driving guest satisfaction, managing labor and financial performance, and delivering exceptional hospitality experiences throughout the convention cente

Key Responsibilities:

      • Oversee daily food and beverage operations for conventions, meetings, banquets, tradeshows, and special events.
      • Ensure all event spaces are set and prepared according to event requirements, service standards, and timelines.
      • Monitor event execution to ensure efficient service, quality standards, and guest satisfaction.
      • Conduct pre-event, during-event, and post-event inspections of all assigned areas
      • Recruit, train, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly team members.
      • Conduct regular staff meetings and pre-shift briefings.
      • Support employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive work environment.
      • Address employee relations matters in accordance with company policies.
      • Assist with performance management, corrective action, and recognition programs.
      • Promote a culture focused on hospitality and exceptional guest service.
      • Ensure service recovery efforts are handled promptly and effectively.
      • Monitor guest feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
      • Serve as a visible leader during events to support guests and team members.
      • Manage labor costs through effective scheduling and staffing strategies.
      • Monitor departmental expenses and support budget objectives.
      • Review payroll for accuracy and compliance.
      • Analyze revenue opportunities and support initiatives to increase sales and guest participation.
      • Assist with inventory controls and cost-management practices.
      • Review event orders, timelines, staffing needs, and operational requirements.
      • Participate in planning meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
      • Ensure staffing levels align with event scope and attendance expectations.
      • Coordinate event logistics and operational resources.
      • Support the successful execution of multiple events simultaneously.
      • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food and beverage service.
      • Enforce company standards related to safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and guest security.
      • Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and operational readiness.
      • Investigate and document incidents as required.
      • Promote safe work practices and assist in safety training initiatives.
      • Review and approve timekeeping records.
      • Track key performance indicators and operational goals.
      • Ensure all department policies and procedures are consistently followed.
      • Other Duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.3-5 years of food and beverage management experience, preferably in a convention center, stadium, arena, hotel, or large event venue.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing high-volume event operations.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and labor management.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands required
  • Strong Microsoft Skills
  • ServSafe Certified preferred
