Job Summary
Manages construction project team members. Provides world class customer service and management of building construction and renovation projects. Responsible for timely completion and financial outcome of construction projects in a team environment that includes the Owner, design professionals (architects/engineers), general contractors, sub-contractors, Owner’s departmental personnel, project inspectors and other team members. Ensures owner satisfaction and overall success of assigned projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervision and management of team members. Manages construction programs and provides oversight of team projects to ensure compliance with Owners’ budget, schedule and quality requirements. Performs constructability reviews of plans and specifications for accuracy, completeness and adherence to applicable standards, codes, policies, and procedures prior to bid. Routinely monitors team projects to ensure contract construction work aligns with contract documents, safety, budget, schedule and quality requirements. Mentors and provides guidance to team members.
- Assists management with hiring processes and new team member training. Provides effective management of team members. Develops team members to be top-notch performers.
- Acts as a team member mentor, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
- Develops strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals. Conducts team meetings to update members on standard processes and continuing expectations.
- Ensures proper documentation is maintained for projects managed directly and for all projects managed by team members. Takes a pro-active role ensuring all KPI-required documents are loaded into e-Builder at the appropriate status for projects managed by the Team Lead and team members.
- Ensures Federal, State, and local laws and codes concerning health, safety, accessibility, and the environment are strictly adhered to in the programming, design, and construction of facilities projects.
- Commits to continuously improving the quality and value of service provided to customers. Strives to exceed customer expectations by ensuring all communication to customers is responsive, respectful.
- Assists team members and others as necessary to resolve customer service issues.
- Manages internal and external customers, contractors, professional service providers and project customers.
- Provides timely, comprehensive updates for weekly, quarterly and annual reports. Keeps upper management informed on team members’ project issues as needed. Provides timely invoice projections each month and other project related information as requested.
- Maintains familiarity with team members’ projects to field questions for upper management and to fill in for team members in their absence.
- Contributes to a safe work environment by quickly reporting accidents and unsafe working conditions. Uses proper personal protective equipment and follows safety procedures outlined in Safety Data Sheets. Participates in safety training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 5 years’ experience of managing large, complex enterprise projects, particularly those involving a medium to significant degree of change across the organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Travel as needed
