Job Summary
**REMOTE POSITION - Ideal candidates are based in the Southeastern region of the U.S.**
Working as the Divisional Purchasing Manager for Chartwells K12, you will be responsible for executing and maintaining compliant purchasing processes and procedures through strong leadership and effective management. The ideal candidate will assist in developing strategic purchasing initiatives, as well as provide operational support within a specified division. The successful individual will also assist with the development of short and long-term financial plans in support of the overall objectives of the company, monitor and maintain performance, product, and service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate and communicates effectively with a diverse divisional resource team including Operations, Culinary, Marketing, Nutrition and Finance teams to achieve business goals.
• Manages product compliance, communicates opportunities, and implements change within a specified division.
• Collaborates with Finance to leverage metrics and scorecards to aid unit level performance vs. KPI.
• Understands contracts supply chain solutions and collaborates with Foodbuy and culinary leaders to drive optimization opportunities at a unit level.
• Work directly with stakeholders on managing compliance toward high-value products and distributor compliance via Approved Product Lists, Approved Distributor Lists, Leakage and P-Card Reports.
• Act as liaison between distribution centers and schools to manage delivery issues.
• Communicates with key team and management associates on product requests, manages slow and dead inventory and auto shipments.
• Responsible for supporting and updating Managed Order Guides (MOG’s) within a specified division.
• Monitors product auto shipments to ensure products received and are consistent with orders placed.
• Monitors and conveys known supplier issues with Foodbuy and region to effectively manage resolution.
• Compiles and distributes daily, weekly and monthly communications and reports as needed.
• Supports annual trainings on USDA commodity diversion strategy and presents region with best financial and commodity product opportunities.
• Provides remote and onsite training to operators with direct purchasing responsibilities within an assigned division.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, foodservice, supply chain or equivalent job experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract food service is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to develop and present information to a diverse group of key stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and analytical skills.
